Del Bosque extends Spain deal

Vicente del Bosque will stay on as Spain coach beyond Euro 2012 after signing a contract renewal with the Spanish football federation (RFEF).

The 61-year-old s previous deal was set to expire after this summer s European tournament, but the coach will now remain in charge of Spain for several more years.

Del Bosque did not disclose the length of his new contract, but he is expected to stay on until after the 2014 World Cup.

I have already renewed my contract as national team coach, said Del Bosque in an interview with Radio Marca.

The former Real Madrid boss took charge of Spain after Euro 2008, and guided them to victory at the 2010 World Cup.

Spain are in Group C at Euro 2012, alongside Italy, Republic of Ireland and Croatia. They start the tournament with a match against the Italians on June 10.
